Letter from the Board President
Milcrofton Water Update
Earlier this year residents of Lake Colonial Estates experienced a series of spikes in water pressure resulting in damage to some of our homes. An emergency meeting of the Lake Colonial Homeowners Association was held to discuss the issue of excessive water pressure, damage incurred, the culpability of Milcrofton Water District, and the prevention of similar incidents in the future. Many concerns were voiced with little satisfaction and no resolution for residents.
Legal counsel drafted a letter to Milcrofton Water District on the behalf of Lake Colonial Estates Homeowners to recover damages along with assistance with the cost of installing pressure regulators. After meetings and discussions with government officials, we met with the Milcrofton Water District Board and restated our position.
•WHAT TO DO
If you have had damage as a result of excessive water pressure, you will need to file your claim(s) individually to Milcrofton Water District. Include a cover page summarizing damage and repair costs and send a copy of that cover page to Lake Colonial Homeowners Association along with the results of any water pressure tests performed by your plumber. Please keep the board apprised as to the status of your claims. There is no guarantee that this effort will be fruitful. If further measures are required, we can refer an attorney to litigate on behalf of those affected either individually or as a group.
Also, if you noticed an unusual increase in your water usage around the time of damage or leakage, you may be entitled to consideration by the water district. Contact Milcrofton or go to their website on download the “Leak Adjustment Form”.
Stay tuned for the date of the Neighborhood Watch Program informational meeting to be presented by Capt. Alan Laney from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
Information on this and other community news will be disseminated through our community website at www.lakecolonialestates.com. If you do not have internet access please contact the board and we will make other provisions to keep you informed.

Leash Law!
Just a reminder there is a leash law for Williamson County. Within our Lake Colonial Estates Restrictive covenants, Section 4, "all animals shall be confined to their owner's property and otherwise comply with county ordinances." The HOA Board can't enforce the law, only the county authorities can. We can reach out to neighbors on your behalf as a board and we always encourage you to take time to talk to your neighbor if there is a loose animal issue, otherwise you will need to call the County Animal Control if violations continue.
Fishing passes! The passes you received this past Summer are good through 2010. Please have your fishing pass with you when you fish. This helps signify you are a resident and helps protect your private lake from others fishing illegally. If you ever notice any suspicious or unlawful behavior at any time at the lake please contact the sheriff's office immediately. This helps keep our community safe! Enjoy the lake! If you are a new resident and need a fishing pass or if you've lost yours, please email us through the 'contact us' page on this site.
